Experience
Bryant Engebretson has served clients in the financial services field since 1994. Having spent 15 years working with clients at major brokerage firms like Edward Jones & Piper Jaffray, and the smaller algorithmic trading firm of PenStar Trading, Bryant learned first-hand the conflicts of interest that the commission based financial industry subjects upon its clients.
In 1998 Bryant was introduced to mathematical modeling for buy/sell decision-making for individual stocks. In 2000 Bryant took the knowledge gained from his mathematical work with individual stocks and created his own algorithms for modeling indices in a diversified portfolio environment. Bryant utilized this active indexing approach successfully in the commission based environment until finally realizing that his goals for managing and servicing his clients were not the same as his employer.
In 2008, Bryant founded Tradewinds Capital Management. He brought with him his proprietary approach to portfolio management and the valuable experience gained through 15 years of working in the brokerage industry, but left behind the conflicts of interest that predominate within the commission based incentives that are the backbone of Wall Street. Bryant is now able to wholly serve his clients, holding their best interest as the firm’s highest standard.
